Time to sign up for the 24th Annual Jacksonville Grand Prix, set for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27 and 28, at North Florida Kart Club at 10244 103rd Street in Jacksonville. Endurance Karting’s longest-running event is back at a track with banked turns and a lengthy 1,000-foot straightaway. All entries drive 10 hp Honda Powered Dino Racing Karts provided by Endurance Karting. Race Pricing – 50 Minutes Practice & Qualifying + 6 Hour Race + All Safety Gear included – $1950/Team Entry with $500 benefiting Spina Bifida of Jacksonville.

Fourth Annual Wings & Wheels: Saturday, Feb. 28 at St. Augustine Airport, produced by Staker Productions. Additional details, including the schedule, will be shared as planning progresses.

Registration is open for the annual Classic Motorsports Amelia Island Kickoff presented by Sunoco: Set for Friday March 6, the day before The Amelia concours on Saturday. About 150 must-see cars, from legendary collector cars to iconic race machines, are expected starting at 1 p.m. that Friday on Fernandina Beach’s Main Beach Park, just a few miles north of the Ritz-Carlton. Spectator entry is free, while vehicle entry, limited to 150 pre-registered cars, is $45 per. All cars must preregister.

** Alert – Caffeine and Gasoline has announced that its first Saturday of the month cruise at J-Tech Institute has “crossed the finish line,” and is cancelled after five years. Organizers thanked “everyone who supported, organized, promoted, and showed up consistently,” and said partnership with J-Tech will continue on special events.

Ground was broken on Tuesday at Callahan Speedway for the new eighth-mile Hicken Power Dragstrip. This will be Northeast Florida’s first drag strip since 2017, set to be built next to a 13-year-old go-kart complex at 543455 U.S. 1. Read more about it on Jacksonville Today.

The Amelia Concours – Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti is the 2026 honoree at the event in early March. And the concours d’elegance – the classic car gathering at the huge weekend classic car event on Amelia Island, is set for a Saturday, and not a Sunday as in past, Hagerty says.

Franchitti won the Indy 500 in 2007, 2010 and 2012, and is also a 4-time IndyCar champion. The concours on Saturday, March 7th will see a collection of his race cars joining the annual display of 200-plus classics this year including Can-Am Racers and Corvettes. Porsche Werks

Registration has opened for Porsche Werks Reunion Amelia Island 2026, always held the same weekend as The Amelia.

This event will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the introduction of the 924 in 1976, as well as the series of transaxle Porsches, which will be the feature cars for Werks Reunion 2026.

The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America welcomed Miss Budweiser “T-2” (Turbine 2) to her new, forever home in Daytona Beach museum last week. Museum officials say they are deeply grateful to donor Joseph Little and the Little family.  

The U-1 Unlimited Hydroplane is the most successful Gold Cup hydroplane boat in the more than 100-year history of the A.P.B.A., with 24 victories between 1987 and 1994.

Related inductees include owner Bernie Little (Class of 1994), Chip Hanauer (Class of 1995), Tom D’Eath (Class of 2000), and Dave Villwock (Class of 2026).

Later in the week, from Dec. 3-7, Alfa Romeo had a high-visibility installation in partnership with BitBasel at the Sagamore Hotel, featuring the 33 Stradale alongside a Tonale Art Car wrapped in a graphic design inspired by BitBasel’s sixth anniversary. With more than 100,000 pedestrians passing the Sagamore during Art Basel, the display delivered one of the week’s most photographed and talked-about moments.

Headed to L.A. for the holidays? The Petersen has a new down and dirty exhibit Legends of the Dirt — a celebration of off-road legends across multiple disciplines. 

The Amelia Concours – Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti is the 2026 honoree at the event in early March. And the concours d’elegance – the classic car gathering at the huge weekend classic car event on Amelia Island, is set for a Saturday, and not a Sunday as in past, Hagerty says.

Franchitti won the Indy 500 in 2007, 2010 and 2012, and is also a 4-time IndyCar champion. The concours on Saturday, March 7th will see a collection of his race cars joining the annual display of 200-plus classics this year including Can-Am Racers and Corvettes. This event will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the introduction of the 924 in 1976, as well as the series of transaxle Porsches, which will be the feature cars for Werks Reunion 2026.

We showed the sketch – now here’s Hyundai’s CRATER Concept adventure vehicle, presented during a press conference at AutoMobility LA 2025. Called a “compact off-road SUV vehicle that visually expresses capability and toughness,” the design exploration captures the spirit of adventure, Hyundai says. Conceived at Hyundai America Technical Center (HATCI) in Irvine, CA., the CRATER is on view now at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

“CRATER began with a question: ‘What does freedom look like?’ This vehicle stands as our answer,” said SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai and Genesis Global Design. “It is a vision shaped by our unending drive to explore — to inspire our customers to explore deeper and embrace the impact of adventure.”

“The Boss 429 is one of the rarest and most desirable muscle cars ever built,” said Tom Scarpello, founder and CEO of Revology Cars. “The Revology Boss 429 is not a copy of that iconic model, but a redefinition of it, leveraging modern technology, engineering, and manufacturing processes to make it as reliable and fun to drive as it is to look at.” 

The Revology Boss 429 features an all-new steel body, assembled using automated spot welding, seam welded joints, and heat-cured structural adhesive, to create an exceptionally rigid structure.

Power comes from a supercharged and intercooled 5-liter, 710-hp Ford Ti-VCT V8, paired with a six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. The chassis has a double-wishbone front suspension with aluminum subframe and a three-link rear suspension with torque arm and Panhard rod. Hydraulic power rack-and-pinion steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, tuned springs and dampers deliver precise handling and a compliant ride.

The show car is finished in Lava Orange, a vivid Porsche hue chosen by Yoshi Amano, Revology’s vice president of marketing, sales, and service.

Looking like a bit of classic HUMVEE combined with Palisade, Hyundai has unveiled teaser sketches of its new CRATER Concept extreme off-road show vehicle. And the real thing is set to make its global debut this week at AutoMobility LA 2025 in Los Angeles, Calif.

The CRATER Concept will also be shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show from now through Nov. 30. 

So what is it?

The CRATER Concept is a compact off-road SUV show vehicle that Hyunda says “embodies capability and toughness.”

“It is a design exploration that captures the spirit of adventure,” the company news release adds. “Inspired by extreme environments, the CRATER Concept … has been crafted to amplify the same spirit and robustness found in Hyundai’s XRT production vehicles, including the IONIQ 5 XRT, SANTA CRUZ XRT, and the new PALISADE XRT PRO.”

The design was conceived at Hyundai America Technical Center (HATCI) in Irvine, Calif., teaser sketches showing its nose, tail and overall look.

Kia has unveiled its “reimagined” 2027 Kia Telluride, redefining the look of the mid-size SUV that debuted six years ago.

For Kia’s design team, the goal was to preserve the essence and design DNA that made the original such a standout in its segment, while elevating its presence and sophistication. The result is an all-new Telluride that’s 2.3 inches longer overall, with a wheelbase stretched by nearly three inches and a height increase of one inch.

The all-new 2027 Telluride will make its official world debut later this month at the Los Angeles Auto Show with a wide breadth of trim levels including the X-Pro trim. The second-generation SUV is expected to arrive in showrooms during the first quarter of 2026.

“With Telluride, it was a matter of being tailored and restrained – dare I say, anti-design,” said Tom Kearns, VP and Senior Chief Designer, Kia Design Center America. “With that approach, it was about capturing strength and luxury, tradition and modernness, into a single expression.”

The front end gets a broad hood with clean, straight lines establishes a powerful stance, while vertical headlamps frame the high-gloss grille. Floating wheel cladding adds refinement while also insulating against the elements, and the tapered roofline contributes dynamic flow while preserving interior room.

At the rear, a rising beltline meets broad fender surfaces to give the vehicle a planted, powerful presence, while the sculpted bumper suggests the SUV’s trail-ready narrative.

“The original Telluride has these instantly recognizable vertical bar tail lamps.  In the second generation, we reinforced this strong light signature by applying it to the front as well,” said Kurt Kahl, Chief Designer, Kia Design Center America. “The twin LED vertical strips that frame the grille and sharpen the Telluride’s face feature Kia’s Star Map lighting graphic. The amber-hued DRL lighting returns with this sleeker, more modern expression.” 

The Amelia Concours has been shortlisted for Motoring Event of the Year at the 2025 International Historic Motoring Awards. Celebrating excellence, innovation, and dedication across the global historic motoring community, the International Historic Motoring Awards shine a spotlight on individuals, clubs, organizations, and events that preserve, promote, and enrich our shared motoring heritage. Winners will be announced on November 14 in London.

Speaking of The Amelia, Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti is the 2026 honoree at the event in early March. And the concours d’elegance – the classic car gathering at the huge weekend classic car event on Amelia Island, is set for a Saturday, and not a Sunday as in past, Hagerty says.Franchitti won the Indy 500 in 2007, 2010 and 2012, and is also a 4-time IndyCar champion. The concours on Saturday, March 7th will see a collection of his race cars joining the annual display of 200-plus classics this year including Can-Am Racers and Corvettes. Petersen Automotive Museum 

The Petersen Automotive Museum honors drag racing legend Don Garlits next Thursday with its Robert E. Petersen Lifetime Achievement Award.

Garlits, aka “Big Daddy,” is a true drag racing pioneer, with 35 NHRA national event victories and three NHRA Top Fuel national championships over his five-decade-long career. He also built the first rear-engine Top Fuel dragster, was the first fuel dragster builder to incorporate aerodynamics into his body designs, and his “Swamp Rat XXX” was the first fully enclosed dragster. He was also the first drag racer to officially surpass the 200, 250 and 270 mile-per-hour marks on the quarter mile.

“Don Garlits set the standard for what a true drag racer could and should be,” said Terry L. Karges, executive director of the Petersen Automotive Museum. “He is a legend both on and off the drag strip, and we look forward to presenting him with this award.”

Named after the founder of the Petersen Automotive Museum, previous recipients of the award include Dan Gurney, Art Chrisman, Carroll Shelby and Don “The Snake” Prudhomme.

“I am so honored to be recognized by the Petersen Automotive Museum and to join such a distinguished group of past recipients,” said Garlits, who established the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing in Ocala. “There is so much racing history in Southern California, and the Petersen has done an amazing job bringing together the entire automotive world in the heart of Los Angeles.”

Toyota is pushing the boundaries of the modern sedan with the debut of the Camry GT-S Concept at the 2025 SEMA Show. Built on a 2025 Camry XSE AWD Hybrid, the GT-S Concept is a study in what’s possible when performance-inspired styling, functional upgrades, and showroom-ready sensibility come together. And even though it’s just an exploration, the  GT-S Concept presented a simple but challenging goal: create a sport sedan that feels like it could roll straight from a dealership floor into a customer’s garage.

The GT-S stays rooted in reality with its stock 232 hp, 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid system unchanged. The interior, too, remains true to the production Camry.

“The Camry GT-S concept is an exciting study with aspirations that are born from the racetrack,” said Kevin Hunter, executive design director, Toyota North America. “ … Our goal was to imagine the next evolution of Camry XSE through aggressive front, side, and rear enhancements that reinforce Camry’s unique position in the world of sport sedans.”

Toyota’s CALTY Design Research in Ann Arbor led the styling effort, working closely with the Research & Development team to bring the GT-S to life. The rear fascia and bumper were engineered to integrate with a performance exhaust, while the sides and front feature newly sculpted aerodynamic components that amplify Camry’s athletic profile. A custom “Inferno Flare” exterior finish completes the package, giving the GT-S a vibrant, motorsport-inspired identity.

“The Camry GT-S Concept is more than just a SEMA one-off—it’s a study in what a performance and style package could mean for Camry in the future,” said Adam Rabinowitz, chief designer, Toyota CALTY Design Research. “Our goal was to create something aspirational yet attainable, and to use this platform to gather valuable feedback from consumers.”

At each corner, adjustable coilovers lower the chassis by 1.5 inches; a high-performance brake upgrade includes massive 8-piston calipers squeezing 365mm front rotors with 6-piston calipers matched with 356mm rear rotors. To enhance mechanical grip, 20-inch performance wheels mounted with 245/35R20 tires fill the wheel wells.

Kia has revealed its first teaser images of the new 2027 Telluride SUV ahead of its Nov. 20th global debut at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. 

The second generation of one of the brand’s most successful vehicles is firmly rooted in Kia’s Opposites United form language that embraces the contrasts between nature and humanity, the company says, The teaser images hint at a square shouldered, upright silhouette framed by thin vertical LEDs bathed in red and amber.

Inspired by its namesake Colorado town, aggressively defined triangular creases in the fenders resemble the chiseled facets of a diamond and capture the essence of the towering Rocky Mountains. A broad hood with clean, straight lines establishes a powerful stance. At the rear, the beltline rises subtly to intersect the D-pillar which rakes forward, suggesting movement even when the vehicle is sitting still. 

Full details of the all-new 2027 Kia Telluride will be announced during the Kia press conference at the Los Angeles Auto Show, a livestream available at www.kia.com.

Mercedes-Benz has shown off a new EV concept called  the Vision Iconic show car, embodying what the automaker calls “the freedom to think beyond convention – a creative expression that introduces new perspectives and bridges past and future.”

And a central feature is the reinterpretation of one of the most recognizable elements in automotive history: the Mercedes-Benz radiator grille.

“Vision Iconic embodies our vision for the future of mobility. With groundbreaking innovations such as neuromorphic computing, steer-by-wire, solar paint and Level 4 highly automated driving, along with state-of-the-art technology, we are setting new standards for the electric and digital age,” Chief Technology Officer Markus Schäfer says. “This beautiful vehicle is a testament to our commitment to making the mobility of tomorrow a reality today.”
The huge coupe is inspired by the golden era of automotive design of the 1930s, with sculptural flowing lines and a touch of Art Deco, says Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer at Mercedes-Benz Group AG.

The interior represents a new kind of journey with automated driving, characterized by lounge-like comfort and an entirely new experience of hyper-analog and digital luxury, Mercedes says. That includes the “Zeppelin” floating glass structure in the dashboard, and a refined interplay of analog and digital instruments.

The concept also has innovative solar coating for additional range, a photovoltaic-active surface that can harness power from the sun,
