Upcoming events:

The 1977 Porsche 934.5 that carried Peter Gregg and Brumos to that year’s Trans-Am Championship is making a rare trip to The Brumos Collection in Jacksonville – and a special event on Friday will see it joined by two of the people who know it best: former Brumos Crew Chief Jack Atkinson and car owner Bob Weber.

Atkinson was instrumental during the Brumos glory years in the 1970s, and will take guests behind the scenes of the title-winning season, as well as the restoration that returned the car to its original Brumos Racing configuration.

After passing through multiple owners, Weber bought the race car in 2003, and enlisted Atkinson and former Brumos Lead Mechanic Paul Willison to restore it. Once returned to its original glory, the 934.5 was shown at many concours through the years. Now, it’s coming home to join many other famous Brumos racing machines on display at the museum at 5159 San Pablo Road S. for a short time.

The event starts at 6 p.m. at the collection, tickets $75 per person, and can be reserved at  events.leapevents.com/tickets/inside-the-59-live-26/tag/mailchimp?mc_cid=94197e255a&mc_eid=2cb97d67c4. Event admission includes soft drinks, beer/wine and light refreshments.

Wait – there’s more:

As Genesis Magma Racing’s #19 GMR-001 Hypercar managed a 13th place finish in its first outing at the famed tack, the South Korean manufacturer unveiled its Magma GT3 Concept for the street.

José Muñoz, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, told those at the weekend news conference at the track that it is “bringing lessons from the track to our Magma performance vehicles and in how we run the business.”

And Luc Donckerwolke, Chief Creative Officer of Genesis, said the concept represent two distinct yet connected expressions of Genesis performance. “embodies our vision of luxury and athleticism on the road, while the Magma GT3 Concept translates that philosophy into the race environment, where every element is driven by performance, efficiency, and purpose.”

“Together, they demonstrate how Genesis is exploring the full spectrum of high performance—from refined grand touring to uncompromising motorsport,” he said.

The Magma GT Concept is conceived as a two-passenger luxury grand tourer. The design is defined by a low-slung front end, wide fenders, and dynamic mid-engine proportions, while its interior combines a twin-cockpit layout with a driver-centric architecture, centered around an analog instrument cluster inspired by motor racing timekeeping instruments.

Developed in collaboration with Hyundai Motorsport, the GT3 Concept is not what the production version, if built, will look like. But Genesis said that it is “under exploration, with architecture, components, and potential development pathways yet to be defined” as one of several possible scenarios.
