Quick Take: 2026 GMC Sierra AT4 EV

EV Rider reviewer Dan Scanlan takes a test drive in a 2026 GMC Sierra AT4 EV – a 231-inch-long, 75-inch tall, Summit White EV pickup truck with real power – 725 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque – and real range. It shares the well-done GM Ultium platform with the Chevrolet Silverado EV we just tested, but gets the AT4 treatment – red tow hooks, 2-inch higher suspension, skid plate and 18-inch AT4 wheels wearing meaty, knobby off-road Goodyear Wrangler rubber.

The interior is cleanly done, high-tech and a tad richer in trim and look, with 16-way power-adjustable front seats, 11-inch gauge screen and 16.8-inch center touchscreen that shows navigation, EV info and more. The latter gets simulated overhead camera images to help back neatly into spots, plus focused nose and tail camera. There’s serious room for four adults, plus 57.5-cubic-foot cargo bed that’s expandable ‘cause there’s a cabin midgate – it can handle stuff over 10 feet long. And there’s a big frunk.

.On the road – and off – there’s multiple liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery modules down low between electric motors, one at the front, the other in the rear – with Torque Vectoring e4WD. Yes, it has rear-wheel-steer and a crab walk setting so you can angle a bit sideways.

But that EV system gave us real range – GMC says up to an indicated 478 miles – and it can tow more than 12,000 pounds. It’s also quick – a Thors Hammer mode with Sport and Adrenaline settings unleashes all 760-hp to fly to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, all-wheel-drive meaning it does it with no fuss.
